Speakers Corner is now a feature of the Euretina Congress programme and continues to be a popular interactive learning opportunity for attendees.
Held in a corner of the exhibition hall near to the e-poster access site, Speakers Corner is an intimate venue where authors of top scoring e-posters summarise their research in a short oral presentation followed by a discussion period during which delegates have the opportunity to comment about the topic or ask questions.
On Thursday afternoon at the second Speakers Corner session of the day focusing on age-related macular degeneration (AMD), attendees heard results from industry-sponsored multicentre studies conducted to obtain product registration, research focusing on identifying markers of disease activity and predicting therapeutic response, and studies exploring patient-reported outcomes and perspectives.
In total, the programme agenda at this year’s Euretina Congress includes 13 60-minute sessions in which speakers will present recent research. In addition to AMD, areas covered in these sessions are diabetes and vascular diseases, imaging, inherited retinal diseases, paediatrics, uveitis, vitreoretinal surgery, and central serous chorioretinopathy/tumours. The Speakers Corner programme also includes a 14th session at 11:00 on Saturday, September 21 in which Baroness Susan Greenfield will be presenting her Diversity Keynote Lecture, “The Neuroscience of Individuality”. This special session gives delegates unable to attend the Saturday morning symposium where Baroness Greenfield will be speaking another chance to hear her talk.
Times for Speakers Corner sessions on Friday and Saturday vary. Delegates are encouraged to refer to the meeting programme for details about the topics of these sessions and their start times.
Euretina Congress delegates can also access all of the Speakers Corner sessions, and all of the submitted e-posters through On Demand.
